Abstract
A coffee grinder with a removable storage and dispensing element that has a housing and rotatable assembly in the housing. The rotatable assembly includes a distributor allows a single one of multiple open sectors to be filled in any given position. A dispensing component has an open sector angularly offset from the open sector of the distributor. When the dispensing component open sector aligns with a filled sector, the beans drop into a hopper for grinding. A grinder operates until all the beans in the hopper are ground.
Claims6
A storage and dispensing device comprising:
- A) a storage volume,
- B) means for defining a plurality of equal volumes,
- C) admitting means for admitting material from the storage volume to one of the equal volumes, and
- D) dispensing means operative with said admitting means for dispensing material from one equal volume while said admitting means admits material to another equal volume.
A coffee bean dispenser comprising:
- A) a housing extending along an axis with a first open end and a second end formed of a plurality of equiangularly spaced sector openings,
- B) a cover for said first open end,
- C) a dispensing plate having a sector opening therethrough and a shaft extending through said second end to said cover to be rotatable by said cover,
- D) an admitting plate having a sector opening therethrough for mounting on said shaft in said housing adjacent said sector openings at said second end, said admitting plate sector opening being angularly displaced with respect to said dispensing plate sector opening whereby rotation of said cover transfers coffee beans from said housing to a sector opening in said second end through said admitting plate sector opening and continued rotation of said cover transfers the coffee beans from said second end sector opening through said dispensing plate sector opening.
A coffee grinder comprising:
- A) an electrically operated coffee grinder with a hopper for receiving coffee beans,
- B) a storage and dispensing device for transferring a predetermined volume of coffee beans into said hopper, and
- C) a control circuit for initiating operation of said electrically operated coffee grinder, said control circuit energizing said grinder until sensing the completion of the grinding of the predetermined volume of coffee beans.
