Abstract
Herein is disclosed a method of cross-linking a tissue, comprising treating the tissue under effective cross-linking conditions with a diunsaturated organic compound comprising structure I: 1 wherein R, R′, and R″ are each independently an organic moiety having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms. Also disclosed is a cross-linked biological tissue produced by treating the tissue according to the above method.
Claims39
A method of cross-linking a tissue, comprising:
- treating the tissue under effective cross-linking conditions with a diunsaturated organic compound comprising structure I:
- 4
- wherein R, R′, and R″ are each independently an organic moiety having at least 1 carbon atom.
A cross-linked biological tissue produced by treating the tissue under effective cross-linking conditions with a diunsaturated organic compound comprising structure I:
- 6
- wherein R, R′, and R″ are each independently an organic moiety having at least 1 carbon atom.
A cross-linked biological tissue wherein at least about 50 mol % of thiol groups present in the tissue are components of thioether bonds between the tissue and a crosslinking agent.
A bioprosthesis comprising a cross-linked biological tissue produced by treating the tissue under effective cross-linking conditions with a fluid comprising a diunsaturated organic compound comprising structure I:
- 8
- wherein R, R′, and R″ are each independently an organic moiety having at least 1 carbon atom.
