Abstract
An animal deterrent system to be placed on structures such as electrical apparatus to deter and protect birds, wildlife and other animals. Specifically, a perching deterrent having a saddle made to fit over any desired member of a structure and deterrent extensions may be used separately or in combination. The deterrent extensions may protruded in various configurations from the above-mentioned saddle to inhibit, deter, or insulate animals contacting structures. Also an insulator cap with spiral conductor covers.
Claims20
An animal deterrent, comprising:
- a. a deterrent extension comprising:
- i. a first deterrent extension element having a first end and a second end;
- ii. a second deterrent extension element having a first end and a second end, wherein said first deterrent extension element and said second deterrent extension element intercross;
- iii. a base deterrent element coupled to the first end of said first deterrent extension element and to the first end of said second deterrent extension element;
- and
- b. an interchangeable animal deterrent mount configured to a support surface.
A method of deterring an animal, comprising the steps of:
- a. intercrossing a first deterrent extension element with a second deterrent extension element;
- b. adjusting a position at which said first deterrent extension element and said second deterrent extension element intercross;
- c. adjusting an angle at which said first deterrent extension element intercrosses said second element,
- d. generating a configuration that deters said species of animal.
An electrical conductor insulation device, comprising:
- a. a first insulator element having an interior surface and an exterior surface;
- b. a second insulator element having an interior surface and an exterior surface;
- c. a flexure element to compress at least a portion of said interior surface of said first insulator element and at least a portion of said interior surface of said second insulator element toward one another;
- d. a plurality of electrical conductor compression elements coupled to said interior surface of said first insulator element;
- e. a plurality of electrical conductor compression elements coupled to said interior surface of said second insulator element, wherein said plurality of conductor compression elements coupled to said interior surface of said first insulator element and said plurality of conductor compression elements coupled to said interior surface of said second insulator surface are interdigitatedly positioned.
An electrical insulation device, comprising:
- a. an electrically insulated cover having a separable juncture, wherein said electrically insulated cover has a configuration to enclose at least a portion of a cylindrical insulated bushing;
- b. a flexure element responsive to said separable juncture in said electrically insulated cover,
- c. a first force transmission surface;
- d. a second force transmission surface, wherein said first force transmission surface and said second force transmission surface are coupled on either side of said separable juncture, whereby force applied to said first force transmission surface and to said second force transmission surface opens said separable juncture to allow insertion of said cylindrical insulated bushing within said electrically insulated cover.
An electrical conductor insulation device, comprising:
- a. an insulated cover;
- b. at least one spiral electrical conductor insulator joined to said insulated cover.
