Abstract
The invention relates to a reflective plant treatment material comprising at least one pigment and having high reflectance of UV (280-400 nm), visible (400-700 nm) and near infrared (700-800 nm) radiation, but allowing at least part transmission of radiation of 800-2500 nm, and to use of the material and method of treating plants.
Claims86
A reflective plant treatment material which reflects more solar radiation than it either transmits or absorbs in the UV (about 280-400 nm), visible (about 400-700 nm) and near infrared (about 700-800 nm) ranges;
- and which transmits at least part of radiation in the range about 800-2500 nm and at least part of radiation above about 2500 nm.
A ground cover which reflects more solar radiation than it either transmits or absorbs in the UV (about 280-400 nm), visible (about 400-700 nm) and near infrared about 700-800 nm) ranges, and which transmits at least part of radiation in the range about 800-2500 nm and at least part of radiation above about 2500 nm.
The combination comprising:
- a plant growing in the ground;
- and
- a ground cover adjacent the ground proximal to said growing plant, said ground cover reflecting more solar radiation than it either transmits or absorbs in the UV (about 280-400 nm), visible (about 400-700 nm) and near infrared (about 700-800 nm) ranges and said ground cover transmitting at least part of radiation in the range about 800-2500 nm and at least part of radiation above about 2500 nm.
