Abstract
The powdery cosmetic composition has improved storage stability and contains at least one cosmetic active ingredient in an amount suitable for its purpose and from about 0.1 to about 20 percent by weight of at least one silicone elastomer. The powdery composition can be a bleaching composition or a dye composition for bleaching or dyeing hair, which contains conventional hair bleaching or dyeing compounds. The at least one silicone elastomer is preferably a dimethicone/vinyldimethicone cross polymer or a cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone cross polymer. Simple methods of making the powdery cosmetic compositions are also described
Claims19
A powdery cosmetic composition comprising from about 0.01 to about 50 percent by weight of at least one silicone elastomer and at least one cosmetic active ingredient for treating at least one of skin and hair in an effective amount according to purposes thereof.
A method of making a powdery cosmetic composition comprising from about 0.01 to about 50 percent by weight of at least one silicone elastomer and at least one cosmetic active ingredient for treating at least one of skin and hair in an effective amount according to purposes thereof, said method comprising treating a powder containing said at least one active cosmetic ingredient with said at least one silicone elastomer in a mixer at room temperature.
A method of making a powdery cosmetic composition comprising a plurality of components including at least one cosmetic active ingredient for treating at least one of skin and hair and from about 0.01 to about 50 percent by weight of at least one silicone elastomer, said method comprising the steps of:
- a) treating each of said components with said at least one silicone elastomer individually in a mixer at room temperature;
- and
- b) after the treating of step a) mixing said components so treated with each other.
