A method of building a surgical case for a patient and an identified surgeon wherein the method includes retrieving a set of events for the surgical case, graphically depicting the events as a group of nested boxes, and providing an alert indicator when a relationship between the events is improperly coordinated.

- retrieving a set of events for the surgical case;
- graphically depicting the events as a group of nested boxes;
- and
- providing a warning indicator when a relationship between the events is improperly coordinated.
