## Abstract

The present invention intends to provide a cathode ray tube capable of preventing a rise in temperature of the deflection yoke efficiently, without increasing the size of a display device. To do so, in the cathode ray tube of the invention, a part of a radiator, which is made up of filaments, is attached to a cone part of a horizontal deflection coil so that heat is exchanged between the radiator and the horizontal deflection coil, while the other part of the radiator extends outside of the deflection yoke. The radiator is formed from a plurality of copper wires arranged in parallel to each other in the form of a strip. The copper wires are 0.24 mm in diameter and coated with insulation.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A cathode ray tube having a deflection yoke, including:
one or more radiators made up of filaments,
wherein a part of each radiator contacts the deflection yoke so that heat is exchanged between the radiator and the deflection yoke, while the remaining part of the radiator extends outside of the deflection yoke.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The cathode ray tube of claim 1,
wherein the filaments are paramagnetic or antiferromagnetic metal wires.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The cathode ray tube of claim 2,
wherein the metal wires are covered with insulation.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The cathode ray tube of claim 2,
wherein the filaments are copper, aluminum or chrome wires.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The cathode ray tube of claim 4,
wherein the diameter of the copper, aluminum or chrome wires is in a range of 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm inclusive.

### Claim 6 (depends on 2)

The cathode ray tube of claim 2,
wherein the filaments are cluster strand wires.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The cathode ray tube of claim 1,
wherein the radiator is formed by arranging a plurality of paramagnetic or antiferromagnetic metal wires in the form of a strip.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The cathode ray tube of claim 7,
wherein each metal wire is individually covered with insulation.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The cathode ray tube of claim 1,
wherein the radiator consists of a plural of layers, each of which is formed by arranging a plurality of paramagnetic or antiferromagnetic metal wires in the form of a strip.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The cathode ray tube of claim 9,
wherein each metal wire is individually covered with insulation.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The cathode ray tube of claim 1,
wherein at least the part of the radiator which is in contact with the deflection yoke is electrically insulated.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The cathode ray tube of claim 1,
wherein the deflection yoke has a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil, and the radiator contacts at least one of the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil so that heat is exchanged between the radiator and the coils.

### Claim 13

A cathode ray tube having a glass bulb of an enveloping structure and a deflection yoke outside of the glass bulb, the deflection yoke comprising a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil, the cathode ray tube including:
one or more radiators made up of filaments,
wherein a part of each radiator is inserted in between the horizontal deflection coil and the glass bulb so that heat is exchanged between the radiator and the horizontal deflection coil, while the remaining part of the radiator extends outside of the deflection yoke toward the glass bulb.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The cathode ray tube of claim 13,
wherein the horizontal deflection coil is a saddle-type coil comprising a cone part and a bend part, and a contact region of the radiator and the horizontal deflection coil is the cone part.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The cathode ray tube of claim 14,
wherein the filaments are arranged in parallel to wires of the horizontal deflection coil in the region.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The cathode ray tube of claim 15,
wherein the region is located along the axis of the cathode ray tube and within 40mm from a point where the strength of the horizontal deflection magnetic field reaches a peak.
