Abstract
The invention relates to processes for producing transgenic plants using tissue-specific promoters. In these plants, the development of particular plant parts can be prevented deliberately.
Claims6
Process for producing transgenic plants containing selectively destructible plant parts, characterized in that a deacetylase gene is placed under the control of a tissue-specific promoter and the tissue parts concerned are caused to die by means of suitable, timely treatment with N-acetyl-PTC or N-acetyl-PTT.
Process for producing transgenic plants containing selectively destructible plant parts, characterized in that the plant possesses resistance to PTC and, in addition, is given a deacetylase gene under the control of a tissue-specific promoter, and the tissue parts concerned are caused to die by means of suitable, timely treatment with PTC or PTT.
