Abstract
A method for providing noninvasive electrical stimulation of a single acupuncture site for treatment of menstrual cramps or treating dysmenorrhea.
Claims12
A method of relieving menstrual cramps or treating dysmenorrhea in a patient comprising the steps of:
- mounting a non-invasive nerve stimulation device onto the highest point of the m. vastus medialis, proximal to the upper border of the patella;
- generating a stimulation signal;
- delivering the stimulation signal to the highest point of the m. vastus medialis, proximal to the upper border of the patella, to relieve menstrual cramps or treat dysmenorrhea;
- and,
- leaving acupuncture points located remotely from the thigh untreated by the delivery of a stimulation signal.
A method of relieving menstrual cramps or treating dysmenorrhea in a patient comprising the steps of:
- mounting at least one electrode onto the highest point of the m. vastus medialis, proximal to the upper border of the patella;
- generating a stimulation signal;
- delivering the stimulation signal to said at least one electrode to stimulate the highest point of the m. vastus medialis, proximal to the upper border of the patella, to relieve menstrual cramps or treat dysmenorrhea;
- and,
- leaving acupuncture points located remotely from the thigh untreated by the delivery of a stimulation signal.
A method of relieving menstrual cramps or treating dysmenorrhea in a patient, said method comprising the steps of:
- applying an electro-acupuncture device onto the highest point of the m. vastus medialis, proximal to the upper border of the patella;
A method for treating a patient suffering from menstrual cramps or treating dysmenorrhea comprising the steps of:
- engaging an electrode with the SP 10 acupuncture point on the patient;
- and,
- applying an electrical current to said electrode to relieve menstrual cramps or treat dysmenorrhea.
