Abstract
This invention provides sustained release preparation of growth hormone, especially human growth hormone.

A composition for sustained release, comprising:
- a carrier material comprising a non-polymeric, non-water soluble liquid material having a viscosity of at least 5,000 cP at 37° C. that does not crystallize neat under ambient physiological conditions;
- growth hormone;
- and
- a multivalent metal cation.
