Abstract
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display includes a blue back-light, a black and white liquid crystal screen and a fluorescent coating. The black and white liquid crystal screen is optically coupled to the blue backlight. The fluorescent coating is disposed on the front surface of the screen.

A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising :
- a. a blue back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue light emitting diode based back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue electroluminescent back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a transparent fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue light emitting diode based back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a transparent fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue electroluminescent back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a transparent fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A full color fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c.a patterned multicolor fluorescent coating on the front surface of said screen.
A full color fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue light emitting diode based back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a patterned multicolor fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.
A full color fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue electroluminescent back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a patterned multicolor fluorescent coating disposed on the front surface of said screen.

- a. a blue back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a fluorescent coating disposed on the interior of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue light emitting diode based back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a fluorescent coating disposed on the interior of said screen.
A monochrome fluorescent liquid crystal display comprising:
- a. a blue electroluminescent back-light;
- b. a black and white liquid crystal screen optically coupled to said blue back-light;
- and
- c. a fluorescent coating disposed on the interior of said screen.
