Abstract
One-component, heat-curing reactive compositions based on liquid rubbers containing reactive olefinic double bonds and optionally solid rubbers and vulcanization systems based on sulfur have high maxima of the acoustic loss factor over a broad in-use temperature range of around +10° C. to +40° C. in their vulcanized state. These compositions optionally contain fine-particle thermoplastic polymers as an additional component. The compositions are suitable for use as acoustically damping adhesives, sealing compounds or coating compositions.
Claims13
A heat-curing reactive composition based on natural and/or synthetic elastomers containing olefinic double bonds and vulcanizing agents, characterized in that the maximum loss factor of the vulcanized composition according to DIN 53440 at 200 Hz is in the range from +10° C. to +40° C. and is at least 0.1 and preferably 0.2 or more.
A composition as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains one or more solid rubbers from the group consisting of cis-1,4-polybutadiene, styrene/butadiene rubber, synthetic isoprene rubber, natural rubber, ethylene/propylene/diene rubber (EPDM), nitrile rubber, butyl rubber, acrylate rubber.
A composition as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it additionally contains a thermoplastic polymer.
A composition as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains either a peroxidic vulcanization system, a vulcanization system of sulfur, organic vulcanization accelerators or a vulcanization system based on quinones, quinone dioximes or dinitrosobenzene and optionally zinc compounds.
A composition as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it additionally contains fillers, flow aids, extender oils, coupling agents and/or antiagers.
The production of the heat-curing reactive composition claimed in at least one of the preceding claims by mixing of the components with intensive shearing.
The use of the composition claimed in at least one of the preceding claims as an acoustically damping one-component or two-component adhesive, sealing compound or coating composition.
A process for bonding metal parts and/or for sealing joints between metal parts, characterized in that
- at least one surface of one part is coated with the compositions claimed in at least one of the preceding claims,
- the parts to be jointed are fitted together,
- and the fitted parts are heated, optionally with mechanical fixing, to cure the reactive composition.
