Abstract
The present invention is directed to a high current electrical power connector for electrically connecting two circuit boards, such as a backplane and a daughtercard. Advantageously, the backplane connector includes a non-conductive tip and sheath to reduce the likelihood of a service technician accidentally becoming electrified.
Claims20
A power connector, comprising:
- a body including a first portion with a first plurality of undercut grooves and a second portion having a second plurality of rectangular slots;
- a first plurality of spring contacts each positioned in a corresponding one of said first plurality of undercut grooves;
- and
- a second plurality of pins each positioned in a corresponding one of said second plurality of rectangular slots.
