Abstract
An instrument support member with an integrated air conducting unit to be mounted between the A-columns of a motor vehicle is composed of at least two metal shells which are connected to each other by plasma jet welding with an effective focus remote from the nozzle, and a plastic tube surrounded by the shells. The plastic tube is mounted at a radial distance from the shells.
Claims7
An instrument support member with integrated air conducting means adapted to be integrated between A-columns of a motor vehicle, the instrument support member comprising two metal shells connected by plasma jet welding using a nozzle with an effective focus remote from the nozzle, and a plastic tube surrounded by the shells, wherein the plastic tube is mounted at a radial distance from the shells.
A method of manufacturing an instrument support member with integrated air conducting means adapted to be mounted between A-columns of a motor vehicle, the method comprising connecting together at least two metal shells by plasma jet welding using a nozzle with an effective focus remote from the nozzle, and mounting a plastic tube within the shells and at a radial distance from the shells.
