Abstract
A recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes among other functions a recording arrangement which has first and second recording modes, such as field-and frame-recording modes, and is capable of varying the number of picture planes to be recorded per unit time is arranged to control the recording speed setting range to be different between recording speeds for the first recording mode and recording speeds for the second recording modes; and, in the event of setting of a recording speed which can be set for the first recording mode but cannot be set for the second mode, the recording speed is automatically changed to a recording speed which can be set for the second recording mode.
Claims57
A recording apparatus comprising:
- a) selecting means for selecting field recording or frame recording;
- b) first means for limiting the setting range of recording speeds in the field recording to a first range;
- c) second means for limiting the setting range of recording speeds in the frame recording to a second range;
- and
- d) control means for actuating either said first means or said second means according to a selection made by said selecting means.
A recording apparatus for recording a video signal on a medium, comprising:
- a) a recording head for recording said video signal;
- b) shifting means for shifting the positions of said head and said medium relative to each other;
- c) setting means for setting the shifting speed of said shifting means;
- and
- d) control means for controlling the shifting speed set by said setting means, said control being made according to the amount of said video signal to be recorded by said head.
A recording apparatus capable of performing either field recording or frame recording, comprising:
- a) selecting means for selecting field recording or frame recording;
- and
- b) control means arranged to differentiate a recording speed setting range between the speed of said field recording and that of said frame recording.
A reproducing apparatus for reproducing information from memory means having said information recorded in a plurality of blocks, comprising:
- a) storage means for storing a signal designating a reproducing sequence in which said blocks of information are to be reproduced;
- b) reproducing means for reproducing said information from said memory means on the basis of the signal stored by said storage means;
- and
- c) control means arranged to cause said reproducing means to reproduce the information recorded in said blocks according to the designating signal when the signal designating the reproducing sequence is stored at said storage means.
A reproducing apparatus for reproducing recorded information from memory means having said information recorded in a plurality of blocks, comprising:
- a) reproducing means for reproducing the information recorded on said memory means;
- b) setting means for setting a reproducing sequence in which said blocks of information are to be reproduced;
- and
- c) control means arranged to inhibit the setting action of said setting means when said reproducing means is not operating.
A reproducing apparatus for reproducing recorded information from memory means having said information recorded in a plurality of blocks thereon, comprising:
- a) signal generating means for generating a signal according to a reproducing sequence designated;
- b) reproducing means for reproducing said recorded information from said memory means on the basis of the signal from said generating means;
- c) shift instruction generating means for generating a shift instruction which differs from said reproducing sequence;
- and
- d) control means for causing said reproducing means to reproduce another information block other than a block which is under the reproducing action of said reproducing means when said shift instruction is generated during the process of the reproducing action and, after said another block is reproduced for a prescribed period of time, to operate according to the signal from said signal generating means.
The reproducing apparatus of clam 29, wherein said reproducing means includes:
- a) pickup means arranged to have access to each of said blocks information recorded on said memory means;
- and
- b) changing means for changing the access position of said pickup means according to the signal from said signal generating means.
A reproducing apparatus for reproducing recorded information from memory means which has said information recorded in a plurality of blocks thereon, comprising:
- a) reproducing means for reproducing said blocks of information;
- b) operation means having an operating state and an inoperative state;
- c) control means arranged to detect the operating state of said operation means and to continuously renew for every predetermined period of time the block of information to be reproduced by said reproducing means while said operation means is in said operating state;
- and
- d) means for rendering said control means operative when said reproducing apparatus is in an initial setting state.
An apparatus for recording and/or reproduction with the positions of a medium and a transducer shifted by a periodic motion of either the medium or the transducer, comprising:
- a) driving means for driving at least either said medium or said transducer to make said periodic motion;
- b) means for generating a first signal every time said period motion comes to a predetermined phase;
- c) reference signal generating means for generating a reference signal for controlling said periodic motion;
- d) means for actuating said driving means according to the result of phase comparison between said first signal and said reference signal;
- and
- e) control means for controlling the operation of the recording and/or reproducing apparatus by counting said reference signal.
