Abstract
An optical waveguide device includes a dielectric substrate; and an optical waveguide formed in the dielectric substrate, the optical waveguide having a longitudinal axis and an outgoing surface disposed at an angle other than a right angle relative to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

An optical waveguide device, comprising:
- a dielectric substrate;
- and
- an optical waveguide formed in the dielectric substrate, the optical waveguide having a longitudinal axis and an outgoing surface disposed at an angle other than a right angle relative to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
An optical waveguide device, comprising:
- a dielectric substrate;
- and
- an optical waveguide formed in the dielectric substrate,
- wherein light going out from the optical waveguide in a first direction and reflected back to the outgoing surface by an external object is directed by the outgoing surface in a second direction different from the first direction.
