Abstract
The present invention relates to a developer remaining amount detecting apparatus in which a remaining amount of developer is detected on the basis of a developer using amount integrated by a developer using amount operating portion.
Claims8
A developer remaining amount detecting apparatus comprising:
- a dot counting portion for counting the number of dots, in image data, to be developed by developer, said dot counting portion counting the number of dots to be developed in a predetermined unit among entire image data;
- and
- a developer using amount operating portion for calculating a developer using amount for each of the predetermined units on the basis of the number of dots counted by said dot counting portion and for integrating calculated results with respect to entire image;
- wherein a remaining amount of the developer is detected on the basis of the developer using amount integrated by said developer using amount operating portion.

A developer remaining amount detecting method comprising steps of:
- counting the number of dots to be developed in a predetermined unit amount entire image data;
- calculating a developer using amount for each of the predetermined units on the basis of the number of dots counted and integrating calculated results with respect to an entire image;
- and
- detecting a remaining amount of developer on the basis of the developer using amount integrated.
