Abstract
A hand held utensil having a head portion connected to a handle, wherein the handle includes structure for encouraging a user of the utensil to present the head portion to an article at a preferred angle.
Claims7
A hand held implement having a tool or head portion (1) and a handle (3) that is positioned or attached to the tool or head portion (1) at an offset or tilted angle, the handle (3) including or being associated with a grip which encourages a user of the implement to present the tool or head portion to an implement at a preferred angle or orientation;
- characterised in that the grip further encourages the user to change his or her hold on the handle when appropriate for reasons of improving the effectiveness or comfort in use of the utensil as a consequence of the angle at which the implement is presented to the implement, wherein the grip comprises a moulded thumb rest (9) that spirals from a first position substantially central to the longitudinal axis of the handle to a second position substantially outside the longitudinal axis of the handle, the spiral being formed in a direction generally toward that side of the handle nearest the users palm when the handle is held in a normal manner.
A hand held implement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, being a toothbrush.
A hand held implement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, being a shaving razor.
An elongate handle (3) adapted for connection to an implement or implement in a tilted or off-set relationship characterised in that the handle includes a thumb rest (9) operable as a pivot or lever for manipulating the handle (3) in use and in rotation around the manipulating the handle (3) in use and in rotation around the longitudinal axis of the handle, the thumb rest (9) facilitating or encouraging a user to adopt an appropriate grip of the handle which, is dependent upon the purpose and instantaneous use of the handle.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
