Abstract
Compositions and methods are provided for treating inflammatory diseases in mammals by inhibiting TNFα expression. The methods comprise the step of topically administrating a composition of the present invention comprising thalidomide, N-alkyl analogs of thalidomide and combinations thereof.

A method of treating a mammal having an inflammatory disease, comprising the step of topically administering to the mammal a compound selected from the group consisting of thalidomide, an analog of thalidomide, and combinations therefore.
A composition comprising a dermatologically acceptable carrier for percutaneous delivery and a compound selected from the group consisting of thalidomide, an analog of thalidomide, and combinations thereof.
