Abstract
A method and an arrangement for detecting the misuse of the call forwarding service in a mobile communication system. In the invention, call forwarding is activated for routing a call addressed to a mobile subscriber to a forwarding number supplied by the mobile subscriber; the forwarding number is modified by registering call forwarding to another number; the number of call forwarding registrations is counted subscriber-specifically; and an alarm is generated when the number of call forwarding registrations exceeds a predetermined maximum value during a predetermined period of time.
Claims8
A method for detecting the misuse of the call forwarding service in a mobile communication system comprising at least one subscriber data base, said method comprising the steps of:
- activating call forwarding for routing a call addressed to a mobile subscriber to a forwarding number supplied by the mobile subscriber,
- changing the forwarding number by registering call forwarding to another number,
- characterized by
- counting the number of call forwarding registrations subscriber-specifically in said subscriber database, and
- generating an alarm when the number of call forwarding registrations counted in said subscriber database exceeds a predetermined maximum value during a predetermined period of time.
An arrangement for detecting the misuse of the call forwarding service in a mobile communication system comprising mobile stations (MS), mobile services switching centres (MSC,GMSC) and subscriber data bases (VLR,HLR), in which arrangement the mobile services switching centre (MSC, GMSC) and the subscriber data bases (VLR,HLR) are supplied with means for implementing call forwarding on the basis of call forwarding activated by the mobile station (MS), characterized in that at least one subscriber data base (HLR) is provided with counters (CF(i)) responsive to call forwarding registrations, and the arrangement comprises means for generating an alarm when the number of call forwarding registrations counted by the counter during a predetermined period of time exceeds a predetermined maximum value.
A subscriber data base (HLR) in a mobile communication system, characterized in that the subscriber data base (HLR) is provided with subscriber-specific counters (CF(i)) responsive to call forwarding registrations, and with means for generating an alarm when the number of call forwarding registrations counted by the counter during a predetermined period of time exceeds a predetermined maximum value.
