Abstract
The present invention discloses folded corrugated material for producing segments or strips for use as Easter grass, packing material and the like or for use as flower pot covers, floral wrappings and ribbon materials.
Claims46
A method for producing corrugated decorative grass, comprising:
- providing a sheet of material capable of being folded;
- folding the sheet of material to provide the sheet of material with a plurality of folds wherein the folds have a first leg and a second leg and each of the first and second legs of the fold extend from a crease of the fold;
- cutting the sheet of material having a plurality of folds to provide corrugated decorative grass comprising a plurality of corrugated segments having a predetermined width and length.
A method for producing corrugated decorative grass having a cloth-like appearance, comprising:
- providing a sheet of polymeric material having a cloth-like appearance on at least one surface thereof, the sheet of polymeric material having a cloth-like appearance on at least one surface thereof being capable of being folded;
- folding the sheet of polymeric material having a cloth-like appearance to provide the corrugated sheet of material having a plurality of folds wherein the folds have a first leg, a second leg and a crease defining a fold line from which the first and second legs extend;
- cutting the corrugated sheet of material having a cloth-like appearance and a plurality of folds to provide corrugated decorative grass having an appearance assimilating cloth wherein the corrugated decorative grass assimilating cloth comprising a plurality of corrugated segments having a predetermined width and length.
A corrugated decorative grass comprising a plurality of segments wherein each segment is provided with a plurality of folds having a first leg and a second leg wherein each of the first and second legs of the folds extend from a crease of the fold.
A corrugated decorative grass having an appearance assimilating cloth comprising a plurality of segments having at least one surface thereof modified to provide the segments with a cloth-like appearance, the segments having a plurality of folds comprising a first leg, a second leg and a fold crease from which the first and second legs extend.
A three-dimensional corrugated decorative grass comprising a plurality of segments produced by cutting a sheet of folded material having a plurality of folds wherein each fold is provided with a fold line and wherein the cutting the sheet of material is in an angular direction relative to the fold lines of the folds.
An apparatus for producing corrugated decorative grass from a corrugated web of material produced by passage of a substantially flat web of material through a corrugator capable of providing corrugations and folds in the substantially flat web of material and thereby provided the corrugated web of material, the apparatus comprising:
- a slitter assembly for slitting the corrugated web of material to provide a slit web of corrugated material having a plurality of corrugated strips of material;
- and
- a cutter assembly for cutting the slit web of corrugated material into corrugated segments to provide the corrugated decorative grass.
The apparatus for producing corrugated decorative grass from a corrugated web of material of claim 31 wherein corrugated web of material is characterized as having a plurality of folds comprising a first leg, a second leg and a fold line from which the first and second legs extend such that a portion of one of the first and second legs of the fold overlays a portion of one of the first and second legs of an adjacently disposed fold, and wherein the slitter assembly is positioned so that as the corrugated web of material is passed through the slitter assembly the slitter assembly slits the corrugated web of material in an angular direction relative to the fold lines of the folds of the corrugated webs of material.
The apparatus for producing corrugated decorative grass from a corrugated web of material of claim 31 wherein corrugated web of material is characterized as having a plurality of folds comprising a first leg, a second leg and a fold line from which the first and second legs extend, and wherein the slitter assembly is positioned so that as the corrugated web of material is passed through the slitter assembly the slitter assembly slits the corrugated web of material in an angular direction relative to the fold lines of the folds of the corrugated web of material.
A method for making corrugated decorative grass, comprising:
- providing a web of material having an upper surface, a lower surface, a first side and a second side;
- corrugating the web of polymeric material to provide the corrugated web of material having a plurality of folds extending between the first and second sides thereof, the folds have a first leg, a second leg and a crease defining a fold line from which the first and second legs extend;
- slitting the corrugated web of material to provide strips of corrugated material;
- and
- chopping the strips of corrugated material into segments having a predetermined length to provide corrugated decorative.
