Abstract
The present invention relates to a very high solid content contact adhesive (VHS) which has a higher solid content than previously thought attainable in the prior art without increasing the viscosity beyond operable levels. Additionally, the present invention provides a VHS application device which allows substantially more uniform application of the VHS than was previously attainable.
Claims19
A very high solid content contact adhesive, comprising:
- a mixture of an adhesive and a solvent, the mixture comprising at least about 28 wt % adhesive and a viscosity of said mixture is in the range from about 50 to about 600 cps.
A very high solid content contact adhesive application nozzle adapted for use with an aerosol spray can, the nozzle, comprising:
- an elongate body;
- an axial throughbore extending along said elongated body;
- a flow restrictor proximate an exit end of said elongate body;
- and
- an exit port at the exit end of the elongate body, the exit port substantially rectangular in shape and comprising at least a pair of walls flaring outward from the flow restrictor to the nozzle exit end.
An aerosol spray device, comprising:
- a spray can;
- a valve mounted to the can;
- a button mounted to the valve to control opening and closing of the valve, the button having an exit port in fluid communication with an interior of the can when the valve is open;
- and
- a nozzle, mounted to the exit port of the button, said nozzle including a throughbore having a substantially rectangular exit port, the port having at least one pair of opposite sidewalls flaring outward from the flow restrictor to an exit end of the nozzle tip.
