Abstract
A method of bonding an ethylene•α-olefin rubber composition with a fiber material. The method includes the steps of adhesion treating the fiber material with a resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex with an ethylene•α-olefin elastomer latex and vulcanization bonding the adhesion-treated fiber material together with an unvulcanized ethylene•α-olefin rubber composition.
Claims27
A method of bonding an ethylene•α-olefin rubber composition with a fiber material, said method comprising the steps of:
- adhesion treating the fiber material with a resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex comprising an ethylene•α-olefin elastomer latex;
- and
- vulcanization bonding the adhesion-treated fiber material together with an unvulcanized ethylene•α-olefin rubber composition.
A power transmission belt comprising:
- a body having a length,
- the body comprising a fiber material extending lengthwise of the belt body,
- wherein the fiber material is adhesion treated with a resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex comprising an ethylene•α-olefin elastomer latex and thereafter vulcanization bonded together with an unvulcanized ethylene•α-olefin rubber composition.
