## Abstract

Damping-valve body, in particular for a piston-cylinder unit filled with damping fluid, having separate passages for two directions of flow, at least some of the passages having an outlet opening that is at least partially covered by at least one valve disk. Each passage has a rib that extends radially, relative to a first direction of flow of the damping fluid, from a boundary wall of the passage and bears a valve support surface for the at least one valve disk.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A damping valve body for a piston-cylinder unit filled with a damping fluid, said damping valve body comprising an axis, a circumference, first passages for flow in a first axial direction and second passages for flow in a second axial direction, each passage having a boundary wall extending between an inlet opening and an outlet opening, at least some of said outlet openings being covered by at least one valve disk, at least some of said boundary walls having a radially extending rib which bears a valve support surface for supporting said at least one valve disk.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A damping valve body as in claim 1 wherein each said boundary wall comprises an inner boundary wall and an outer boundary wall, said rib extending radially inward from said outer boundary wall.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A damping valve body as in claim 1 wherein said rib is axially extended to form said support surface.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

A damping valve body as in claim 2 further comprising additional support surfaces arranged between said passages and said axis, said additional support surfaces being radially aligned with said ribs.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

A damping valve body as in claim 1 wherein, for a given passage, the inlet opening and the outlet opening have the same cross-section.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

A damping valve body as in claim 1 wherein said body is stamped and formed in one piece, said body having axially opposed sides, each side having raised portions and depressions, each said depression being axially opposite from one of said raised portions.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

A damping valve body as in claim 1 wherein each said outlet opening is framed by an encircling ridge which serves as a valve support surface.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

A damping device as in claim 7 comprising two said valve disks, one of said valve disks covering the outlet openings of said first passages, the other of said valve disks covering the outlet openings of said second passages, each of said ribs bearing a support surface which lies radially outside the encircling ridge on the opposite side of said valve body.
