Abstract
The invention relates to a vein compressing device comprising a pressure hose cuff and a pressure source as well as a pressure adjusting auxiliary means for detecting and/or adjusting the internal pressure of the cuff to a predetermined value. This pressure value causes a compressive force to act via the pressure hose cuff on the upper arm of a patient to be treated, the compressive force being large enough to cause a squeezing off of a vein while the flow area of an artery is maintained at least partly.
Claims18
A vein compressing device comprising a pressure hose cuff, a pressure source and a pressure adjusting auxiliary means, said pressure adjusting auxiliary means adapted for detecting and/or adjusting the internal pressure of the cuff to a predetermined value, which causes a squeezing off of a vein while the flow area of an artery is maintained at least partly.
A vein compressing device comprising a pressure source which is connected to a pressure cuff whose internal pressure is adjustable by a pressure adjusting auxiliary means, the pressure adjusting auxiliary means further comprising a pressure setting unit for reading a pressure value which is dependent on an age and/or a physical constitution of the patient from a digitally stored table, or for determining a pressure value within a scope of an automatically effected blood pressure reading, with which a squeezing off of a vein is effected while a flow area of an artery is maintained at least partly.
A method for causing a compressive force to act on an upper arm of a patient, preferably by means of a vein compressing device, comprising the following steps:
- selecting a pressure value for an internal pressure of a pressure cuff applicable to an upper arm of a patient in dependence on the age and/or physical constitution of the patient from a previously stored table, or determining a pressure value within a scope of an individual blood pressure measurement by means of the vein compressing device such that the determined pressure value lies between measured systolic and diastolic pressures,
- operating a pressure source for increasing the pressure in the cuff until the internal pressure of the cuff reaches the selected or determined pressure value.
A method for causing a compressive force to act on an upper arm of a patient, preferably by means of a vein compressing device, comprising the following steps:
- automatically selecting a pressure value for an internal pressure of a pressure cuff preferably applicable to the upper arm of the patient in dependence on an age and/or a physical constitution of the patient from a previously digitally stored table, or determining a pressure value within a scope of an automatic blood pressure measurement by means of the vein compressing device, the determined pressure value lying between measured systolic and diastolic pressures,
- automatically operating a pressure source for increasing the pressure in the cuff until the internal pressure of the cuff reaches the selected or determined pressure value, and
- maintaining the selected or predetermined pressure over a period of time for compressing blood in the vein.
