Abstract
The application is directed to the treatment of one or more symptoms associated with drug withdrawal by administering desmethylselegiline.
Claims17
In a method for obtaining a selegiline-like therapeutic effect in a patient undergoing drug withdrawal, the improvement which comprises administering to said patient desmethylselegiline employing a dosage regimen effective to treat one or more withdrawal symptoms.
A pharmaceutical composition, comprising:
- a) desmethylselegiline;
- and
- b) a second drug useful in the treatment of the symptoms associated with drug withdrawal;
- wherein said desmethylselegiline and said second drug are present in an amount such that one or more unit doses of said composition are effective in the symptomatic treatment of drug withdrawal.
