The invention relates to a deflection device for birds, and for pigeons in particular, which can be rapidly adapted to the length and depth of, for example, building surfaces which are to be protected, or can be adapted to the conditions incurred by projecting parts of buildings, and can be laid or applied quickly and without excessive commitment. For this purpose a plurality of plastic base rails are provided, parallel to one another and identical in design, which are connected in a separable manner by webs which feature predetermined break points, and are formed from a plurality of modules, connected to one another in a separable manner by means of predetermined break points. Anchored in each module is a bent metal pin, both ends of which extend, as spaced deflection elements, above a raised section of the module upwards and/or outwards, in such a way that one end runs perpendicularly upwards and the other end extends upwards and outwards at an angle of approximately 30° to the vertical.
Deflection device for birds, and for pigeons in particular, with a plurality of longitudinally-extended and relatively easily flexible parallel base elements of identical design, made of plastic, arranged at intervals from one another and spaced above one another, running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the base elements, connected and individually capable of separation by means of webs featuring predetermined break points, and which each feature a plurality of modules connected to one another by means of predetermined break points, which each feature a raised section in the centre with a cut-out on its underside, and at least one aperture extending from said cut-out to the upper side of the raised section, and with a plurality of deflection elements in the form of bent metal pins, arranged at a distance from one another along the base elements, the bent sections of said pins being retained in each case in the raised section of the allocated module, and the ends of which, located closest to the adjacent base element, extend perpendicularly upwards above the raised section of the module, while the other end of each metal pin extends outwards and upwards from the raised section of the module, characterised in that
Pigeon deflection device according to one of the foregoing claims, characterised in that the metal pins (15) are made of stainless steel (V2A or V4A), have a thickness of approx. 1.3 mm, and their ends (16,17) projecting out of the raised section (9) of the modules (4) have a length of approx. 115 mm.
Pigeon deflection device according to one of the foregoing claims, characterised in that in each module (4), on both sides and at the same distance from the raised section (9) of the module (4), on the longitudinal axis (7) of the latter, an oval or rectangular perforation (19) is provided, for securing the deflection device by means of nails or screws, or for securing by means of special connection elements.
Pigeon deflection device according to one of the foregoing claims, characterised in that the base elements (1), and the webs (2) which connect them to one another, are made of UV-stabilized polycarbonate or styrene-acrylonitrile polymerisates, and are manufactured in one piece by the injection moulding process, in the course of which the metal pins (15) are located in their anchored position.
