Abstract
The central processing unit is provided with an instruction queue storage section. This central processing unit is made of a memory, such as FIFO memory, that adopts first-in first-out method. A counter counters each time an instruction datum is stored in the instruction queue storage section. When the value of the counter is 0 or 1 and instruction fetch is not suppressed, a fetch request is issued.

A central processing unit comprising:
- an instruction queue storage section which stores instruction data supplied from outside of said central processing unit and outputs the instruction data in an order in which the instruction data was stored;
- a counter which counts the number of the instruction data stored in said instruction queue storage section;
- a fetch request section which outputs a fetch request when a count value of the counter is 0 or 1;
- an address output section which directly outputs a next instruction address output from an address adder to the outside when said fetch request section outputs the fetch request;
- and
- an instruction execution section which reads the instruction data stored in said instruction queue storage section and executes the instruction data.

- a cache;
- a memory;
- an instruction queue storage section which stores instruction data supplied from outside of said central processing unit and outputs the instruction data in an order in which the instruction data was stored;
- a counter which counts the number of the instruction data stored in said instruction queue storage section;
- a fetch request section which outputs a fetch request when a count value of the counter is 0 or 1;
- an address output section which directly outputs a next instruction address output from an address adder to said cache or to said memory based on the fetch request from said fetch request section;
