## Abstract

An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery are provided. The apparatus and the method provide effectively controlled loading amount and porosity of the positive electrode by manufacturing the positive electrode using a dry process including a step of feeding a positive electrode material in the form of a powder and a step of pressurizing the same, where the step of feeding the positive electrode material in the form of a powder and the step of pressurizing the same are performed independently.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An apparatus for manufacturing a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery, the apparatus comprising:
a positive electrode material feeding unit that feeds a positive electrode material in the form of a powder to one surface of a positive electrode current collector while the positive electrode current collector is being conveyed by conveying means; and
a positive electrode material shaping unit that heats and pressurizes the positive electrode current collector fed with the positive electrode material in the form of a powder, wherein the pressurization is performed using a mold having a shape of the positive electrode.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the positive electrode material feeding unit comprises an ultrasonic sieve machine, a vibratory feeder, or a rotary feeder.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the positive electrode material shaping unit pressurizes at a temperature of 60 to 130° C. and a pressure of 0.2 MPa to 10 MPa using a hot press.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein a primer coating layer comprising a binder is formed on the one surface of the positive electrode current collector.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the binder comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of fluororesin-based binders comprising polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE); rubber-based binders comprising styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, and styrene-isoprene rubber; cellulose-based binders comprising carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), starch, hydroxy propyl cellulose, and regenerated cellulose; polyalcohol-based binders; polyolefin-based binders comprising polyethylene and polypropylene; polyimide-based binders; polyester-based binders; and silane-based binders.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the positive electrode material in the form of a powder comprises a sulfur-carbon composite composed of 50 to 90% by weight of sulfur and 10 to 50% by weight of a porous carbon material.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the apparatus further comprises a positive electrode material recovery unit which conveys the positive electrode material in the form of a powder remaining on the positive electrode current collector, after the pressurization by the positive electrode material shaping unit, to the positive electrode material feeding unit.

### Claim 8

A method for manufacturing a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery, the method comprising:
(S1) feeding a positive electrode material in the form of a powder to one surface of a positive electrode current collector while the positive electrode current collector is being conveyed by a conveying means; and
(S2) pressurizing the positive electrode current collector fed with the positive electrode material in the form of a powder conveyed from the step (S1) by applying pressure in one direction using a mold having a shape of the positive electrode.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method according to claim 8, wherein the method further comprises (S3) recovering the positive electrode material in the form of a powder remaining on the positive electrode current collector after the pressurization of the step (S2) to the positive electrode material feeding unit.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The method according to claim 8, wherein the steps (S1) to (S2) are repeated twice, and the steps (S1) and (S2) are performed alternately.
