Abstract

After discovering an electronic device in a to-be-network-configured state, a wireless access device sends, at ultra-low power, a name of a wireless local area network in which the wireless access device is located to an electronic device, and/or sends, at ultra-low power, a message in response to a network configuration request to the electronic device. After the electronic device receives the name of the wireless local area network in which the wireless access device is located and the message in response to the network configuration request which are sent by the wireless access device, the electronic device negotiates with the wireless access device to transmit a password of the wireless local area network in which the wireless access device is located, and is connected to the wireless access device based on the name and the password of the wireless local area network in which the wireless access device is located.

Dependent claims

A method, wherein the method is applied to a system comprising an electronic device and a wireless access device, and the method comprises:

sending, by the electronic device, a probe request frame;
receiving, by the wireless access device, the probe request frame sent by the electronic device;
sending, by the wireless access device, a probe response frame to the electronic device at first power by using a first antenna, wherein the probe response frame excludes password information, and the wireless access device sends the probe response frame without signal strength measurement;
sending, by the electronic device, a second probe request frame;
receiving, by the wireless access device, the second probe request frame;
and
sending, by the wireless access device, a second probe response frame to the electronic device at the first power by using the first antenna, the second probe response frame indicating a password mode negotiation capability identifier;
after the sending the second probe response frame, performing password transfer negotiation between the electronic device and the wireless access device;
establishing, by the electronic device, a wireless local area network connection to the wireless access device after receiving the second probe response frame;
and
after the electronic device establishes the wireless local area network connection to the wireless access device, sending, by the wireless access device, a data frame to the electronic device at second power by using a second antenna,
wherein the first antenna and the second antenna are a same antenna or two antennas, and the first power is less than the second power.
