Dynamic control of sensing durations

A method for wireless communications at a network device, comprising:

• transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), signaling comprising a request to suspend a wireless sensing procedure based at least in part on a collision between one or more sensing signal burst occasions in a plurality of sensing signal burst occasions and a data transmission between the network device and the UE, the wireless sensing procedure comprising radar sensing;
• determining whether the UE has suspended the wireless sensing procedure, wherein suspension of the wireless sensing procedure is based at least in part on the signaling and on a priority of the wireless sensing procedure;
• and
• communicating with the UE based at least in part on the determination.

An apparatus for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• memory coupled with the at least one processor, the memory storing instructions for the at least one processor to cause the UE to:
• perform a wireless sensing procedure based at least in part on a sensing pattern defining a plurality of sensing signal burst occasions, the wireless sensing procedure comprising radar sensing;
• receive signaling comprising a request to suspend the wireless sensing procedure based at least in part on a collision between one or more sensing signal burst occasions in the plurality of sensing signal burst occasions and a data transmission between a network device and the UE;
• determine to suspend the wireless sensing procedure for the one or more sensing signal burst occasions or to reject the data transmission for the one or more sensing signal burst occasions based at least in part on the signaling and on a priority of the wireless sensing procedure;
• and
• selectively continuing the wireless sensing procedure or pausing the wireless sensing procedure based at least in part on the determining.

An apparatus for wireless communications at a network device, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• memory coupled with the at least one processor, the memory storing instructions for the at least one processor to cause the network device to:
• transmit signaling comprising a request to suspend a wireless sensing procedure based at least in part on a collision between one or more sensing signal burst occasions in a plurality of sensing signal burst occasions and a data transmission between the network device and a user equipment (UE), the wireless sensing procedure comprising radar sensing;
• determine whether the UE has suspended the wireless sensing procedure, wherein suspension of the wireless sensing procedure is based at least in part on the signaling and on a priority of the wireless sensing procedure;
• and
• communicate with the UE based at least in part on the determination.
