Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device (WCD) may communicate, during a time period, with a peripheral device via a wireless connection, the wireless connection using a first channel for communication. The WCD may monitor a second channel during a concurrency time of the wireless connection, the second channel using a channel availability check (CAC) to obtain resources for communicating, and transmitting an indication to switch to the second channel for communication. In some aspects, the WCD may communicate with low-latency requirements. Numerous other aspects are described.

A wireless communication device (WCD) for wireless communication, comprising:
- one or more memories;
- and
- one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to cause the WCD to:
- communicate, during a time period, with a peripheral device via a wireless connection, the wireless connection using a first channel for communication;
- monitor a second channel during a concurrency time of the wireless connection, wherein the second channel is a Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channel using a channel availability check (CAC) to obtain resources for communicating;
- transmit, to the peripheral device, an indication to increase a latency target for communications via the first channel;
- select the second channel from a list of DFS available channels based at least in part on performance of the CAC;
- and
- transmit, based at least in part on the indication to increase the latency target, an indication to switch to the second channel for communication based on selection of the second channel.
A peripheral device for wireless communication, comprising:
- one or more memories;
- and
- one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to cause the peripheral device to:
- communicate, during a time period, with a wireless communication device (WCD) via a wireless connection, the wireless connection using a first channel for communication;
- receive, from the WCD, an indication to increase a latency target for communications via the first channel;
- and
- receive, based at least in part on the indication to increase the latency target, an indication to switch to a second channel selected from a list of Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) available channels for communication, wherein the second channel is DFS channel using a channel availability check (CAC) to obtain resources for communicating.
A method of wireless communication performed by a wireless communication device (WCD), comprising:
- communicating, during a time period, with a peripheral device via a wireless connection, the wireless connection using a first channel for communication;
- monitoring a second channel during a concurrency time of the wireless connection, wherein the second channel is a Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channel using a channel availability check (CAC) to obtain resources for communicating;
- transmitting, to the peripheral device, an indication to increase a latency target for communications via the first channel;
- selecting the second channel from a list of DFS available channels based at least in part on performance of the CAC;
- and
- transmitting, based at least in part on the indication to increase the latency target, an indication to switch to the second channel for communication based on selecting the second channel.
A method of wireless communication performed by a peripheral device, comprising:
- communicating, during a time period, with a wireless communication device (WCD) via a wireless connection, the wireless connection using a first channel for communication;
- receiving, from the WCD, an indication to increase a latency target for communications via the first channel;
- and
- receiving, based at least in part on the indication to increase the latency target, an indication to switch to a second channel selected from a list of Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) available channels for communication, wherein the second channel is a DFS channel using a channel availability check (CAC) to obtain resources for communicating.
