Indicators for physical downlink shared channel transmissions

A user equipment (UE), comprising:

• at least one memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the UE to:
• receive a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signal, wherein:
• the PDCCH signal schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process;
• the PDCCH signal comprises a control information field that schedules the PDSCH transmission, wherein the control information field comprises:
• a first indicator;
• and
• a second indicator, wherein the first indicator and the second indicator are both contained in the control information field and both correspond to the PDSCH transmission scheduled by the control information field;
• the first indicator corresponds to PDSCH transmissions of the HARQ process using a first transmission mode;
• and
• the second indicator corresponds to PDSCH transmissions of the HARQ process using a second transmission mode different from the first transmission mode;
• and
• decode the control information field to obtain the first indicator and the second indicator.

A base station, comprising:

• at least one memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the base station to:
• encode a first indicator and a second indicator into a control information field;
• and
• transmit a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signal comprising the control information field, wherein:
• the PDCCH signal schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process;
• the control information field schedules the PDSCH transmission;
• a first indicator;
• and
• the first indicator and the second indicator both correspond to the PDSCH transmission scheduled by the control information field;
• the first indicator corresponds to PDSCH transmissions of the HARQ process using a first transmission mode;
• and
• the second indicator corresponds to PDSCH transmissions of the HARQ process using a second transmission mode different from the first transmission mode.

A method performed by a base station, comprising:

• encoding a first indicator and a second indicator into a control information field;
• and
• transmitting a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signal comprising the control information field, wherein:
• the PDCCH signal schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process;
• the control information field schedules the PDSCH transmission;
• the first indicator and the second indicator both correspond to the PDSCH transmission scheduled by the control information field;
• the first indicator corresponds to PDSCH transmissions of the HARQ process using a first transmission mode;
• and
• the second indicator corresponds to PDSCH transmissions of the HARQ process using a second transmission mode different from the first transmission mode.
