Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a communication technique that merges IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rates than 4G systems, and a system for same. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, healthcare, digital education, retail business, security and safety-related services, etc.) on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. In addition, the present disclosure relates to a method and device for transmitting a signal through a plurality of slots in a wireless communication system.

A method of a user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a base station via a radio resource control (RRC) signalling, configuration information for a transport block processing over multiple-slots (TBoMS), wherein the configuration information comprises information on a number of slots;
- receiving, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), wherein:
- a time domain resource allocation (TDRA) field, a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) field and a redundancy version (RV) field are included in the DCI,
- the information on the number of slots and information for symbol allocation is indicated based on the TDRA field,
- the information for the symbol allocation is applied to each slot within the number of slots, and
- information for the RV is applied to a first slot within the number of slots;
- determining a transport block size (TBS) for the PUSCH based on the configuration information, wherein the TBS for the PUSCH is based on a total number of resource elements (REs) allocated for the PUSCH, and the total number of REs allocated for the PUSCH is based on the number of slots;
- performing channel coding;
- performing rate matching based on the information for the RV indicated by the DCI;
- and
- transmitting, to the base station, the PUSCH in the slots.
A method of a base station in a communication system, the method comprising:

- the information on the number of slots and information for symbol allocation is indicated based on the TDRA field,
- the information for the symbol allocation is applied to each slot within the number of slots, and
- information for the RV is applied to a first slot within the number of slots;
- determining a transport block size (TBS) for the PUSCH according to the configuration information, wherein the TBS for the PUSCH is based on a total number of resource elements (REs) allocated for the PUSCH, and the total number of REs allocated for the PUSCH is based on the number of slots;
- receiving, from the UE, the PUSCH in the slots;
