Abstract
A method for controlling an information processing apparatus for communicating with a first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus includes a first acquisition step of acquiring connection information for connecting to an access point from the first communication apparatus; and a first transmission step of transmitting the connection information to the second communication apparatus. The connection information transmitted to the second communication apparatus includes information acquired from the first communication apparatus and information stored in advance in a storage area of the information processing apparatus.
Claims20
A method for controlling an information processing apparatus, the method comprising:
- receiving from a user an instruction to register a first communication apparatus;
- establishing a wireless connection between the information processing apparatus and a first access point;
- establishing a wireless connection between the first communication apparatus and the first access point;
- executing, based on the receiving from the user the instruction to register the first communication apparatus, a registration process of
- (a) acquiring, from the first communication apparatus connected to the first access point, specific information regarding the first communication apparatus,
- (b) acquiring, from the first communication apparatus connected to the first access point, first connection information for connecting to the first access point, the first connection information including a password used by the first communication apparatus to connect to the first access point,
- (c) storing the acquired first connection information in a storage area;
- and
- transmitting the first connection information, which had been acquired and stored based on the receiving from the user the instruction to register the first communication apparatus, to a second communication apparatus that is not registered and is different from the first communication apparatus via communication conforming to a communication scheme that is not via an external access point.

- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
- receiving from a user an instruction to register a first communication apparatus;
- establishing a wireless connection between the information processing apparatus and a first access point;

- executing, based on the receiving from the user the instruction to register the first communication apparatus, a registration process of

- transmitting the first connection information, which had been acquired and stored based on the receiving from the user the instruction to register the first communication apparatus, to a second communication apparatus that is not registered and is different from the first communication apparatus via communication conforming to a communication scheme that is not via an external access point.
