generates, and in response to the conditional indication, configuration information related to the conditional procedure (2220); and transmits, to the CU, a UE context response message including the configuration information (2216). ## Claims ### Claim 1 A method in a distributed unit, DU, of a distributed base station, for configuring a user equipment (UE), the method comprising: receiving, from a central unit, CU, of the distributed base station, a UE context request message; in a first instance, determining that the UE context request message includes a conditional indication related to a conditional procedure and generating, based on the conditional indication, configuration information related to the conditional procedure, including generating a cell group configuration with a reconfiguration with sync information element (IE) or field; in a second instance, determining that the UE context request message does not include a conditional indication related to a conditional procedure and determining that the UE context request message includes a handover preparation information, generating, based on the handover preparation information, configuration information related to an immediate procedure, including generating a cell group configuration with a reconfiguration with sync IE or field; and transmitting, to the CU, a UE context response message including the configuration information. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the UE context request message includes receiving a UE Context Setup Request message. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the UE context request message includes receiving a UE Context Modification Request message. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the conditional procedure is conditional handover. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the conditional procedure is conditional Primary Secondary Cell, PSCell, change. ### Claim 6 A method in a central unit (CU) of a distributed base station, for configuring a user equipment, UE, the method comprising: transmitting, to a distributed unit (DU) of the distributed base station, a UE context request message; in a first instance, including, in the UE context request message, a conditional indication related to a conditional procedure and receiving, based on the transmitting, a UE context response message including configuration information related to the conditional procedure, the configuration information including a cell group configuration with a reconfiguration with sync information element (IE) or field; and in a second instance, omitting from the UE context request message, a conditional indication related to a conditional procedure and including, in the UE context request message, a handover preparation information and receiving, based on the transmitting, a UE context response message including configuration information related to an immediate procedure with a reconfiguration with sync IE or field. ### Claim 7 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein transmitting the UE context request message includes transmitting a UE Context Setup Request message. ### Claim 8 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein transmitting the UE context request message includes transmitting a UE Context Modification Request message. ### Claim 9 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein the conditional procedure is conditional handover. ### Claim 10 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein the conditional procedure is conditional PSCell change. ### Claim 11 A distributed unit (DU) of a base station, the DU including processing hardware and configured to: receive, from a central unit (CU) of the distributed base station, a UE context request message; in a first instance, determine that the UE context request message includes a conditional indication related to a conditional procedure, generate, based on the conditional indication, configuration information related to the conditional procedure, including a cell group configuration with a reconfiguration with sync information element (IE) or field; in a first instance, determine that the UE context request message does not include a conditional indication related to a conditional procedure and if the UE context request message includes a handover preparation information, generate, based on the handover preparation information, configuration information related to an immediate procedure including generate a cell group configuration with a reconfiguration with sync IE or field; and transmit, to the CU, a UE context response message including the configuration information. ### Claim 12 (depends on 11) The base station of claim 11, wherein the UE context request message is a UE Context Setup Request message. ### Claim 13 (depends on 11) The base station of claim 11, wherein the UE context request message is a UE Context Modification Request message. ### Claim 14 (depends on 11) The base station of claim 11, wherein the conditional procedure is conditional handover. ### Claim 15 (depends on 11) The base station of claim 11, wherein the conditional procedure is conditional Primary Secondary Cell, PSCell, change. ### Claim 16 (depends on 11) The base station of claim 11, further configured to: receive a reconfiguration with sync indication in the cell group configuration.
