Network based control of wireless communications

A device comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:
• receive first data indicating first characteristics of communications between one or more first user devices and a wireless gateway, the first data comprising video streaming packets;
• receive second data indicating second characteristics of communications between one or more second user devices and the wireless gateway, the second data comprising web browsing packets;
• determine, based at least in part on the first data and the second data, a first adjustment to a priority associated with delivery of communications of the video streaming packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more first user devices relative to delivery of communications of the web browsing packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more second user devices;
• cause, based on the first adjustment, the delivery of communications of the video streaming packets to be prioritized over the delivery of communications of the web browsing packets;
• receive third data indicating an update to the first characteristics and the second characteristics;
• and
• cause, based on the third data, a second adjustment to the priority associated with the delivery of communications of the video streaming packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more first user devices relative to the delivery of communications of the web browsing packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more second user devices.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause:

• receiving first data indicating first characteristics of communications between one or more first user devices and a wireless gateway, the first data comprising video streaming packets;
• receiving second data indicating second characteristics of communications between one or more second user devices and the wireless gateway, the second data comprising web browsing packets;
• determining, based at least in part on the first data and the second data, a first adjustment to a priority associated with delivery of communications of the video streaming packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more first user devices relative to delivery of communications of the web browsing packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more second user devices;
• causing, based on the first adjustment, the delivery of communications of the video streaming packets to be prioritized over the delivery of communications of the web browsing packets;
• receiving third data indicating an update to the first characteristics and the second characteristics;
• and
• causing, based on the third data, a second adjustment to the priority associated with the delivery of communications of the video streaming packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more first user devices relative to the delivery of communications of the web browsing packets via the wireless gateway to the one or more second user devices.
