Method performed by network node and network node

A device of a network node, comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• and
• at least one processor, comprising processing circuitry, coupled to the at least one transceiver and configured individually and/or collectively, to:
• acquire cell capacity information indicating target cell capacities for a plurality of cells supported by a distributed unit (DU);
• determine cell capacity summations based on the cell capacity information, wherein determining each of the cell capacity summations comprises
• updating a set of current cell capacities for the plurality of cells based on the set of current cell capacities and weights, wherein each of the weights corresponds to a difference between a current cell capacity and a target cell capacity, and
• determining the cell capacity summation based on the updated set of current cell capacities for the plurality of cells;
• and
• determine predicted cell capacity information for a maximum cell capacity summation from among the cell capacity summations;
• and
• transmit, to the DU, the predicted cell capacity information, wherein the predicted cell capacity information is configured to be used to allocate a cell capacity with respect to each of the plurality of cells in the DU.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon program instructions, the instructions, when executed by at least one processor comprising processing circuitry, individually and/or collectively, perform operations including:

• acquiring cell capacity information indicating target cell capacities for a plurality of cells supported by a distributed unit (DU);
• determining cell capacity summations based on the cell capacity information, wherein determining each of the cell capacity summations comprises:
• updating a set of current cell capacities for the plurality of cells based on the set of current cell capacities and weights, wherein each of the weights corresponds to a difference between a current cell capacity and a target cell capacity, and
• determining the cell capacity summation based on the updated set of current cell capacities for the plurality of cells;
• determining predicted cell capacity information for a maximum cell capacity summation from among the cell capacity summations;
• and
• transmitting, to the DU, the predicted cell capacity information, wherein the predicted cell capacity information is configured to be used to allocate a cell capacity with respect to each of the plurality of cells in the DU.
