Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sending a reduced size message. One of the methods includes receiving, by a wireless device, a request to send, over a wireless network, a message comprising one or more phrases; determining that a connection quality for the wireless network does not satisfy a connection quality threshold; generating, responsive to determining that the connection quality threshold is not satisfied, a reduced-size message based at least in part on the one or more phrases; and sending, by the wireless device and via the wireless network, the reduced-size message.
Claims18
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, by a first device from a second device over a wireless network, a message comprising at least one element, wherein the message comprises a first data subset that includes the at least one element and a second, different data subset and the message that comprises the at least one element that indicates that the first device has a decompression engine for decompressing the message;
- determining whether the at least one element was included in the received message and indicates that the first device is part of a predetermined system, the determining comprising determining whether the at least one element represents that the message does not comprise one or more phrases from an original message and indicates that the first device has the decompression engine;
- determining whether to decompress the message using a first result of the determination whether the at least one element was included in the received message and indicates that the first device is part of the predetermined system, the determining comprising determining, by the first device, whether to decompress the message with the decompression engine using the first result of the determination, based on the at least one element indicating that the first device has a decompression engine for decompressing the message, that the at least one element represents that the message does not comprise the one or more phrases from the original message and indicates that the first device has the decompression engine;
- and
- performing one or more actions based at least on a second result of the determination whether to decompress the message.
An apparatus for a first device and comprising processing circuitry and memory on which are stored instructions that are operable, when executed by the processing circuitry, to cause the processing circuitry to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, from a second device over a wireless network, a message comprising at least one element, wherein the message comprises a first data subset that includes the at least one element and a second, different data subset;
- determining whether the at least one element that was included in the received message a) represents that the message comprises one or more phrases from an original message for the apparatus and b) indicates that the message is not a reduced-size message of the original message, the determining comprising determining, based at least on the at least one element that was included in the received message, whether the at least one element indicates that the first device has a predetermined address;
- using a first result of the determination whether the at least one element that was included in the received message a) represents that the message comprises the one or more phrases from the original message and b) indicates that the message is not a reduced-size message of the original message, determining whether to decompress the message, the first result including result data for using a first result of the determination whether the at least one element indicates that the first device has the predetermined address;
- and
- performing one or more actions based at least on a second result of the determination whether to decompress the message.
