Abstract
Example techniques relate to playback based on acoustic signals in a system including a first network device and a second network device. A first network device may detect a presence of a user using a camera and/or infrared sensors. The first network device sends, in response to detecting the presence of the user, a particular signal via the first network interface. The second network device receives data corresponding to the particular signal and plays back an audio output corresponding to the particular signal.
Claims17
A first network device comprising:
- a network interface;
- an audio transducer;
- a microphone;
- a camera;
- at least one processor;
- at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the first network device is configured to:
- receive, via the camera, image data indicating a human presence;
- transmit, via the network interface over a first type of data network to a first computing system, first data comprising a spoken utterance received via the microphone after detection of the human presence;
- receive, via the network interface over the first type of data network, second data from the first computing system, wherein the second data is received in response to a user input at a second network device;
- output, via the audio transducer, audio content corresponding to the received second data, wherein the audio content is output with respect to the human whose presence was indicated by the image data;
- receive, via the network interface over a second type of data network, third data from a third network device;
- transmit, via the network interface over the first type of data network to a second computing system, fourth data representative of the third data;
- after transmission of the fourth data, receive, via the network interface over the first type of data network, fifth data from the second computing system;
- and
- transmit, via the network interface over the second type of data network, sixth data representative of the received fifth data to the third network device.
A system comprising a first network device and a second network device, the first network device comprising:
- a first network interface;
- an audio transducer;
- a microphone;
- a camera;
- at least one first processor;
- and
- at least one first non-transitory computer-readable medium storing program instructions that are executable by the at least one first processor such that the first network device is configured to perform first functions comprising:
- receiving, via the camera, image data indicating a human presence;
- transmitting, via the first network interface over a first type of data network to a first computing system, first data comprising a spoken utterance received via the microphone after detection of the human presence;
- receiving, via the first network interface over the first type of data network, second data from the first computing system, wherein the second data is received in response to a user input at a third network device;
- outputting, via the audio transducer, audio content corresponding to the received second data, wherein the audio content is output with respect to the human whose presence was indicated by the image data;
- receiving, via the first network interface over a second type of data network, third data from the second network device;
- transmitting, via the first network interface over the first type of data network to a second computing system, fourth data representative of the third data;
- after transmitting the fourth data, receiving, via the first network interface over the first type of data network, fifth data from the second computing system;
- and
- transmitting, via the first network interface over the second type of data network, sixth data representative of the received fifth data to the second network device, and
- the second network device comprising:
- a second network interface;
- at least one second processor;
- and
- at least one second non-transitory computer-readable medium storing program instructions that are executable by the at least one second processor such that the second network device is configured to perform second functions comprising:
- transmitting, via the second network interface over the second type of data network, third data from the second network device.
At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that are executable by at least one processor such that a first network device is configured to:
- receive, via a camera, image data indicating a human presence;
- transmit, via a network interface over a first type of data network to a first computing system, first data comprising a spoken utterance received via a microphone after detection of the human presence;
- receive, via the network interface over the first type of data network, second data from the first computing system, wherein the second data is received in response to a user input at a second network device;
- output, via an audio transducer, audio content corresponding to the received second data, wherein the audio content is output with respect to the human whose presence was indicated by the image data;
- receive, via the network interface over a second type of data network, third data from a third network device;
- transmit, via the network interface over the first type of data network to a second computing system, fourth data representative of the third data;
- after transmission of the fourth data, receive, via the network interface over the first type of data network, fifth data from the second computing system;
- and
- transmit, via the network interface over the second type of data network, sixth data representative of the received fifth data to the third network device.
