## CPC

- H04N 23/45: for generating image signals from two or more image sensors being of different type or operating in different modes, e.g. with a CMOS sensor for moving images in combination with a charge-coupled device [CCD] for still images
- H04N: PICTORIAL COMMUNICATION, e.g. TELEVISION

## Abstract

In some examples, an electronic device comprises a first camera to capture an image using a lens, a second camera to detect movement of an eye, and a controller coupled to the first and second cameras. The controller is to provide a signal combining a portion of the image captured by the first camera, and eye movement data indicating the movement of the eye detected by the second camera.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An electronic device, comprising:
a first camera to capture an image using a lens;
a second camera to detect movement of an eye; and
a controller coupled to the first and second cameras, wherein the controller is to divide the image into a plurality of portions, wherein a quantity of the plurality of portions corresponds to a ratio of a capture frequency of the second camera to a frame rate of the first camera, and wherein the controller is to provide a signal combining:
a portion of the image captured by the first camera from the plurality of portions; and
eye movement data indicating the movement of the eye detected by the second camera.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the signal does not contain all of the image.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the electronic device includes a buffer to store the captured image.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein a size of the portion of the image is based on the frame rate of the first camera and the capture frequency of the second camera.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the controller is to produce the signal consistent with any one of a Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Camera Serial Interface (CSI), Camera Link, Universal Serial Bus (USB), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1394 specifications.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the first camera includes one of a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensor or a charge-coupled device (CCD) sensor.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the first camera has a global shutter.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the controller is to, based on a change of the capture frequency of the second camera, adjust a quantity of a plurality of portions into which a second image captured by the first camera is divided.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein each portion of the plurality of portions corresponds to an instance of a plurality of instances of capturing eye movement data by the second camera.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The electronic device of claim 9, wherein the controller is to:
for each particular portion of the plurality of portions:
combine the particular portion with the eye movement data captured in the instance corresponding to the particular portion to generate combined data; and
provide the combined data on a hardware channel.

### Claim 11

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing executable code which, when executed by a controller, causes the controller to:
receive an image captured by a first camera;
store the image to a buffer;
receive, from a second camera, eye movement data indicating movement of an eye;
divide the image into a plurality of portions, wherein a quantity of the plurality of portions corresponds to a ratio of a capture frequency of the second camera to a frame rate of the first camera; and
provide a signal combining the eye movement data and a portion, but not all, of the image from the plurality of portions.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The computer-readable medium of claim 11, wherein the first camera has a global shutter.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The computer-readable medium of claim 11, wherein a size of the portion of the image is based on the frame rate of the first camera and the capture frequency of the second camera.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The computer-readable medium of claim 11, wherein the first camera includes one of a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensor or a charge-coupled device (CCD) sensor.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The computer-readable medium of claim 11, wherein the executable code, when executed by the controller, causes the controller to, based on a change of the capture frequency of the second camera, adjust a quantity of a plurality of portions into which a second image captured by the first camera is divided.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)

The computer-readable medium of claim 11, wherein each portion of the plurality of portions corresponds to an instance of a plurality of instances of capturing eye movement data by the second camera.

### Claim 17

An electronic device, comprising:
a camera with a rolling shutter to capture a plurality of portions collectively representing an image;
a biometric sensor to capture biometric data, wherein a quantity of the plurality of portions corresponds to a ratio of a capture frequency of the biometric sensor to a frame rate of the camera; and
a controller coupled to the camera and the biometric sensor, the controller to:
receive a portion of the image from the plurality of portions, and the biometric data; and
provide a signal combining the portion of the image and the biometric data.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The electronic device of claim 17, comprising a buffer to store the portion of the image for subsequent access.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The electronic device of claim 17, wherein the controller is to produce the signal consistent with any one of a Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Camera Serial Interface (CSI), Camera Link, Universal Serial Bus (USB), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1394 specifications.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The electronic device of claim 17, wherein each portion of the plurality of portions corresponds to an instance of a plurality of instances of capturing biometric data by the biometric sensor.
