System and method for delivering missed portions of media assets to interested viewers

A system comprising:

• a memory;
• an input/output (I/O) circuitry;
• and
• a control circuitry configured to:
• detect that at least one user of a plurality of users is disregarding a portion of a media asset that is currently playing, wherein the portion of the media asset is associated with metadata;
• determine that the at least one user is not associated with a user profile;
• wherein the I/O circuitry is configured to:
• generate a new user profile for the at least one user, the new user profile being associated with the at least one user and comprising metadata associated with media asset characteristics, wherein the new user profile is stored in the memory;
• wherein the control circuitry is configured to:
• determine a plurality of interests of the at least one user based at least in part on the metadata associated with the media asset characteristics stored in the new user profile;
• and
• based at least in part on the plurality of interests:
• add the at least one user to (i) a first group of users of the plurality of users that is interested in and is disregarding the media asset or (ii) a second group of users of the plurality of users that is not interested in the media asset;
• and
• determine, based at least in part on the adding, an action to perform at one or more devices associated with the at least one user.
