Abstract
An image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus includes: deriving a plurality of direct mode (DM) candidates for a chroma block, determining any one mode among default modes and the plurality of DM candidates for the chroma block, based on first information obtained from a bitstream, and intra-predicting the chroma block based on the determined mode. Deriving the plurality of DM candidates includes deriving at least one DM candidate from intra prediction modes of different neighboring blocks of a luma block corresponding to the chroma block.

An image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus, the image decoding method comprising:
- deriving a plurality of direct mode (DM) candidates for a chroma block;
- determining any one mode among default modes and the plurality of DM candidates for the chroma block, based on first information obtained from a bitstream;
- and
- intra-predicting the chroma block based on the determined mode,
- wherein the deriving the plurality of DM candidates comprises:
- deriving at least one DM candidate from intra prediction modes of different neighboring blocks of a luma block corresponding to the chroma block.
An image encoding method performed by an image encoding apparatus, the image encoding method comprising:
- deriving a plurality of direct mode (DM) candidates for a chroma block;
- determining any one mode among default modes and the plurality of DM candidates for the chroma block;
- and
- intra-predicting the chroma block based on the determined mode,
- wherein first information indicating the determined mode is encoded in a bitstream, and
- wherein the deriving the plurality of DM candidates comprises:
- deriving at least one DM candidate from intra prediction modes of different neighboring blocks of a luma block corresponding to the chroma block.
A method of transmitting a bitstream, the method comprising:
- obtaining the bitstream, wherein the bitstream is generated based on:
- deriving a plurality of direct mode (DM) candidates for a chroma block,
- determining any one mode among default modes and the plurality of DM candidates for the chroma block, and
- intra-predicting the chroma block based on the determined mode;
- and
- transmitting the bitstream,
- wherein first information indicating the determined mode is encoded in the bitstream, and
- wherein the deriving the plurality of DM candidates comprises:
- deriving at least one DM candidate from intra prediction modes of different neighboring blocks of a luma block corresponding to the chroma block.
