Abstract
A descriptor of a network service is determined. The descriptor may be used for controlling management of a network service, such as instantiation or updating of the network service. The descriptor comprises multiple constituents. Further, the descriptor is provided with information on version dependency between at least two of the multiple constituents.
Claims15
A method of managing a network service in a communication network based on a Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) framework, wherein the method is performed by an NFV Orchestrator (NFVO), the method comprising:
- receiving a descriptor of a network service, the descriptor of the network service comprising multiple constituents corresponding to a plurality of network function descriptors, wherein
- the network service descriptor is provided with information on version dependency between at least two of the multiple constituents and the information on version dependency identifies one or more of the constituents and, respectively for each of the identified constituents, indicates one or more versions of at least one other of the constituents on which the identified constituent depends;
- receiving a request for management of the network service;
- and
- determining, based on the information on the version dependency, whether to accept the request for management.
A node for a communication network based on a Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) framework, wherein the node is an NFV Orchestrator (NFVO), the node being configured to:
- receive a descriptor of a network service, the descriptor of the network service comprising multiple constituents corresponding to a plurality of network function descriptors, wherein
- the network service descriptor is provided with information on version dependency between at least two of the multiple constituents and the information on version dependency identifies one or more of the constituents and, respectively for each of the identified constituents, indicates one or more versions of at least one other of the constituents on which the identified constituent depends;
- receive a request for management of the network service;
- and
- determine, based on the information on the version dependency, whether to accept the request for management.
