Abstract
A high-concentrating photovoltaic system that includes a photovoltaic panel and an array of dome-shaped lenses disposed above a light-gathering face of the photovoltaic panel. Each dome-shaped lens includes a flat base and a domed upper portion defining a lens interior, each lens interior is air-tight and contains a gas at a pressure of from greater than 0 kilo Pascals (kPa) to 25 kPa. Further, each dome-shaped lens is formed of a glass and the array is a rectangular array having an inter-lens spacing between each adjacent dome-shaped lens.

A high-concentrating photovoltaic system, comprising
- a photovoltaic panel;
- and
- an array of dome-shaped lenses disposed above a light-gathering face of the photovoltaic panel, wherein
- each dome-shaped lens includes a flat base and a domed upper portion defining a lens interior;
- each lens interior is air-tight and contains a gas at a pressure of from greater than 0 to 25 kPa.
