Abstract
A system includes: an inverter configured to convert DC power from a battery to AC power to drive a motor, wherein the inverter includes: a bulk capacitor; one or more switches; a gate driver; and one or more controllers, wherein the one or more controllers are configured to provide one or more of a gate voltage or a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the gate driver to control the one or more switches to discharge the bulk capacitor.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- an inverter configured to convert DC power from a battery to AC power to drive a motor, wherein the inverter includes:
- a bulk capacitor;
- one or more switches;
- a gate driver including an under-voltage lockout (UVLO) fault and a dead-time protection (DTP);
- and
- one or more controllers,
- wherein the one or more controllers are configured to provide one or more of a gate voltage or a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the gate driver to control the one or more switches to discharge the bulk capacitor.

A system including one or more controllers configured to:
- control a gate driver to output one or more of a gate voltage or a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to one or more switches to discharge a bulk capacitor based on controlling an output voltage of a gate driver power supply to the gate driver, wherein the gate driver power supply includes a low-dropout linear regulator.
A system comprising:
- a gate driver configured to have an under-voltage lockout (UVLO) fault and a dead-time protection (DTP);
- a gate driver power supply configured to supply an output voltage to the gate driver;
- and
- one or more controllers configured to control the output voltage of the gate driver power supply to the gate driver to output one or more of a gate voltage or a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to one or more switches to discharge a bulk capacitor.
