## Abstract

A mobile power source includes an electrical generator, a controller, a resistor, and a user-activated switch positioned on a control panel of the electrical generator, the user-activated switch is configured to move between at least a first position and a second position. In response to the user-activated switch being in the first position, the resistor is configured to act as a terminating resistor at one end of a controller area network (CAN) bus of a power generation system, and in response to the user-activated switch being in the second position, the resistor is configured to be prevented from acting as the terminating resistor of the CAN bus.

## Claims

### Claim 1

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The mobile power source of claim 1, further comprising a controller configured to be connected to the CAN bus of the power generation system.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The mobile power source of claim 5, wherein the controller is configured to be connected to the CAN bus of the power generation system in response to the actuator being in the first configuration or the second configuration.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The mobile power source of claim 6, wherein the controller is configured to communicate with at least one other mobile power source connected to the power generation system by the CAN bus.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The mobile power source of claim 1, wherein in response to the actuator being in the second configuration, the resistor is configured to not be operably connected to the CAN bus.

### Claim 9

A mobile power source comprising:
an electrical generator;
a first resistor;
a second resistor; and
an actuator configured to move between at least a first configuration and a second configuration,
wherein in response to the actuator being in the first configuration, the first resistor is configured to act as a terminating resistor at one end of a first controller area network (CAN) bus of a power generation system, and the second resistor is configured to act as a terminating resistor at one end of a second CAN bus of the power generation system, and
wherein in response to the actuator being in the second configuration, the first resistor is configured to be prevented from acting as the terminating resistor of the first CAN bus, and the second resistor is configured to be prevented from acting as the terminating resistor of the second CAN bus.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The mobile power source of claim 9, wherein the second resistor is an auxiliary resistor.
