## Abstract

A system for adaptive power grid management includes a scout command module configured to receive a formation plan and a logistics list comprising a plurality of assets for executing tasks in the formation plan, identify an operation loop of the formation plan having a host asset and a plurality of participant assets, determine assigned roles for each of the plurality of participant assets in the operation loop, verify availabilities of each of the plurality of participant assets based on the assigned roles and the asset data stored in the asset database, determine a launch plan for the operation loop for the host asset and the plurality of participant assets, and cause the plurality of the network of devices to execute the formation plan based on the launch plan.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An adaptive power grid management system, the system comprises:
an asset database storing asset data associated with devices on a network of devices geographically distributed in a power grid for power transmission and distribution; and
a processor coupled to the asset database and the network of devices, the processor being configured to execute a scout command module which causes the processor to:
receive a formation plan and a logistics list comprising a plurality of assets for executing tasks in the formation plan, the formation plan comprises a plurality of tasks to adaptively reconfigure the network of devices on the power grid from a current state to a desired state according to states of the formation plan;
identify an operation loop of the formation plan having a host asset and a plurality of participant assets;
determine assigned roles for each of the plurality of participant assets in the operation loop;
verify availabilities of each of the plurality of participant assets based on the assigned roles and the asset data stored in the asset database;
in response to verifying the availabilities of each of the plurality of participant assets to execute the formation plan, determine a launch plan for the operation loop for the host asset and the plurality of participant assets; and
cause the plurality of the network of devices of the power grid, including the host asset and the plurality of participant assets, to execute the formation plan based on the launch plan, wherein the plurality of participant assets communicates with the host asset in one or more operation loops during the execution of the formation plan.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the assigned roles comprise a coordinator role, a messenger role, an inspector role, and/or a guard role.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the processor further verifies the availability of each of the plurality of participant assets based on asset cloning and self-forming capabilities.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:
initiate an asset replacement in the event that a participant asset is unavailable.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the launch plan comprises a launch time, a load, an origin, a destination, and an asset identifier.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the launch plan is configured to cause a participant asset to accept instructions from the host asset after launch.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the launch plan is configured to cause a participant asset to report specified data back to the host asset.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to update the launch plan in response to device data received from the network of devices.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein a meta object for execution by a participant asset is transmitted from the processor to the participant asset via the host asset or another participant asset.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the launch plan is configured to cause the host asset or a participant asset to selectively perform a plurality of functions in response to real-time conditions after launch.

### Claim 11

A method for managing an adaptive power grid, the method comprising:
storing asset data associated with devices on a network of devices in an asset database, the network of devices being geographically distributed in a power grid for power transmission and distribution;
receiving, at a scout command module executed on a processor coupled to an asset database and a network of devices, a formation plan and a logistics list comprising a plurality of assets for executing tasks in the formation plan, the formation plan comprises a plurality of tasks to adaptively reconfigure the network of devices on the power grid from a current state to a desired state according to states of the formation plan;
identifying, by the processor, an operation loop of the formation plan having a host asset and a plurality of participant assets;
determining assigned roles for each of the plurality of participant assets in the operation loop;
verifying availabilities of each of the plurality of participant assets based on the assigned roles and the asset data stored in the asset database;
in response to verifying the availabilities of each of the plurality of participant assets to execute the formation plan, determining a launch plan for the operation loop for the host asset and the plurality of participant assets; and
causing the plurality of the network of devices of the power grid, including the host asset and the plurality of participant assets, to execute the formation plan based on the launch plan, wherein the plurality of participant assets communicates with the host asset in one or more operation loops during the execution of the formation plan.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein the assigned roles comprise a coordinator role, a messenger role, an inspector role, and/or a guard role.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, further comprising:
verifying the availability of each of the plurality of participant assets based on asset cloning and self-forming capabilities.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, further comprising:
initiating an asset replacement in the event that a participant asset is unavailable.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein the launch plan comprises a launch time, a load, an origin, a destination, and an asset identifier.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)
