Abstract
A post for holding an electrical device includes a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device and a cover that is slidable on the body between an open position to access the volume and a closed position covering the volume.
Claims23
A post for holding an electrical device, comprising:
- a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device, the body having a base connected to a top member, the top member having a sidewall surrounding an interior that has an open front portion;
- and
- a cover that is slidable on the body between an open position to access the interior volume and a closed position covering the interior volume, the cover having a top wall and a side wall that extends from the top wall, the side wall of the cover surrounding a cover portion of the top member in the closed position, and the cover maintaining a continuous connection to the body as it slides the entire length of the top member of the body to uncover the opening.
A post for holding an electrical device, comprising:
- a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device, the body having a base connected to a top member, the top member having a sidewall surrounding an interior that has an open front portion, the top member having a plurality of tracks on an exterior of the sidewall;
- and
- a cover that is slidable on the body between an open position to access the interior volume and a closed position covering the interior volume, the cover has a top wall and a side wall that extends from the top wall, the cover having an interior surface and an exterior surface, and the interior surface of the cover having a plurality of ridges that mate with the plurality of tracks of the top member.
A post for holding an electrical device, comprising:
- a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device, the body having a base connected to a top member;
- and
- a cover that is slidable on the body between an open position to access the interior volume and a closed position covering the interior volume, the cover having a top wall and a side wall that extends from the top wall, the cover having one or more cover contacts and the top member having one or more electrical contacts, and, when the cover is in a closed position, the one or more electrical contacts can conduct electricity to the one or more cover contacts and, when the cover is in the open position, the one or more electrical contacts do not conduct electricity to the one or more cover contacts.
A post for holding an electrical device, comprising:
- a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device;
- a cover that is slidable on the body between an open position to access the interior volume and a closed position covering the interior volume;
- and
- a first stabilizer bar and a second stabilizer bar that are each connected to the cover and move with the cover between the open position and the closed position, the first stabilizer bar and the second stabilizer bar extending from a bottom of the cover, the first stabilizer bar and the second stabilizer bar each remaining fixed relative to the cover while a portion of the first stabilizer bar moves through a first hole in the top member and a second portion of the second stabilizer bar moves through a second hole in the top member when the cover slides on the body between the open position and the closed position.
1 more element
A post for holding an electrical device, comprising:
- a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device;
- and
- a cover that is movable from an open position to access the interior volume and a closed position covering the interior volume, the cover maintaining a continuous connection to the body as it slides between the open position and the closed position, the cover being removably connected to the post so that a plurality of different covers are connectable to the body, and each of the plurality of different covers incorporating a different accessory feature that is configured to receive electricity.
A post for holding an electrical device, comprising:
- a body having an interior volume to hold the electrical device, the body having a top portion and a bottom portion, the bottom portion being configured to be buried in the ground;
- and
- a cover that is movable from an open position to access the interior volume and a closed position covering the interior volume, the cover maintaining a continuous connection to the body as it slides the entire length of the top member of the body to uncover the opening, and the cover being flush with the top portion and the bottom portion in the closed position.
