Collapsible thigh support apparatus for stringed instruments

A thigh support apparatus, comprising:

• a first section of brackets comprising a first upper bracket and a second upper bracket arranged parallel to each other;
• a second section of brackets comprising a first lower bracket and a second lower bracket arranged parallel to each other, wherein the first section of brackets and the second section of brackets are connected at a pivot location, and wherein the first section of brackets is configured to collapse into the second section of brackets when the apparatus is in a folded state;
• a first crossbar system coupling distal ends of the first upper bracket and the second upper bracket together, wherein the first crossbar system is configured to telescope to adjust a lateral distance between the first upper bracket and the second upper bracket;
• a second crossbar system coupling distal ends of the first lower bracket and the second lower bracket together, wherein the second crossbar system is configured to telescope to adjust a lateral distance between the first lower bracket and the second lower bracket;
• a third crossbar system positioned at the pivot location and coupling proximal ends of the first section of brackets to proximal ends of the second section of brackets, wherein the third crossbar system is configured to telescope;
• and
• an adjustment module coupled to the third crossbar system and configured to control rotation of the first section of brackets relative to the second section of brackets around the pivot location.
